Fun fact: Microsoft's Windows Mobile team always had a reference hardware, which was a below-average phone from previous generation. For example, WM 6 for 600MHz/128 MB devices was dogfooded on 200 MHz/64MB devices, and a lot of Microsoft people really used them as their personal phones.
