That depends on the team leader and how well they can take suggestions. It's a team, not everyone will have the same background and, probably, nor would it be best that they did.
So if the team lead that I’m hiring to be the subject matter expert can’t be the go to person for technical solutions based on relevant experience in the domain, who should it be?
a) the most experienced amongst the team in any particular language
b) the most experienced amongst the team in any particular domain
c) the go-to person for any particular problem
The whole point of a team is to cover several different sets of knowledge and experience because no one person can know it all or do it all. A leader does their best to enable this collective to produce the best it can.
