It all depends on the use cases.

For me, FreeBSD is a no go given my desktop usage requirements.

Also not, since I require access to specific 3D programming software SDKs (vendor specific), modeling, video editing tools and .NET (work).

This currently makes me a Windows/Mac OS X guy in what concerns desktop usage.
